Terms of Service
Last updated: June 24, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Sweet An Business LLC, a California limited liability company doing business as “My School Advisor” (“My School Advisor,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They govern your access to and use of the My School Advisor website, applications, and services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who may use the Service
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. You must be 18 or older (or have a parent or guardian complete the purchase) to buy a paid plan or other paid feature. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow them to create accounts or knowingly collect their personal information.
If you access the Service through a school, district, or counselor that provisioned your account, your use may also be governed by a separate agreement between us and that institution (see Section 12).
2. Your account
You agree to provide accurate information, keep your password confidential, and enable the security features we offer (such as multi-factor authentication). You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@myschooladvisor.app if you suspect unauthorized use.
3. What the Service is — and what it is not
My School Advisor is an educational planning tool for students, families, and counselors. It provides college- and career-planning information, organization tools, and AI-generated guidance.
The Service does not provide professional advice and does not guarantee any outcome. Information and AI-generated suggestions are for general informational and educational purposes only. They are not, and are not a substitute for, professional academic, admissions, financial, legal, or career advice, and they do not guarantee admission to any school, receipt of any scholarship or financial aid, a particular GPA, or any other result. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. You are responsible for independently verifying important information with official sources (such as the school, college, testing agency, or financial-aid office) and with a qualified human advisor before acting on it.
4. Plans, pricing, and billing
We currently offer the following paid options. Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change on notice.
- Premium — $15 per month.
- Vault — $5 per month.
- Premium Annual — $150 for a 12-month term.
- Essay slot — $20, one-time.
- Essay season pass — $79, one-time (less any essay slot already purchased in the same cycle).
- Season pass upgrade — $59, one-time.
Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor (Helcim). We do not store your full card number. By purchasing, you authorize us and our processor to charge your payment method for the amounts and on the schedule described at checkout.
5. Automatic renewal — please read
Monthly subscriptions (Premium and Vault) automatically renew each month at the then-current price, and your payment method is charged each cycle, until you cancel. The Premium Annual plan is charged once for a 12-month term; at the end of that term it converts to a month-to-month Premium subscription billed at the then-current monthly price on your payment method, which then renews monthly until you cancel (it does not automatically re-bill the annual amount). We will provide any renewal reminders or notices required by law.
You may cancel at any time (see Section 6). California residents and others may have additional rights under applicable automatic-renewal laws.
6. Cancellations and refunds
You can cancel a subscription at any time from your account settings. When you cancel, your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period, and you are not charged again after that. We do not provide partial or prorated refunds for the unused portion of a billing period, except where required by law. One-time purchases (such as an essay slot or season pass) are non-refundable once the associated credit or feature has been used. We may choose to offer a refund or credit in our discretion, and nothing here limits any non-waivable rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- access or attempt to access another user’s account or data;
- scrape, copy, reproduce, resell, or build a competing product from the Service or its content;
- reverse engineer, probe, or interfere with the Service’s security or operation;
- attempt to discover, derive, extract, or reconstruct the Service’s underlying models, algorithms, scoring methodologies, weights, or parameters, including by systematically collecting or analyzing its outputs (“model extraction”);
- use automated means to access the Service except as we expressly permit;
- submit content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful, or that you do not have the right to submit.
8. Your content
You retain ownership of the information and materials you submit (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and use Your Content to operate and provide the Service to you (including processing it through the AI providers described in our Privacy Policy). We do not sell Your Content, and we do not permit our AI providers to use it to train their models. How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, text, and the “My School Advisor” name and logo, is owned by Sweet An Business LLC and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
The Service also embodies proprietary methodologies, scoring models, and other confidential information and trade secretsof Sweet An Business LLC, including the design, signal selection and weighting, dampening, and parameters of our analytic indices (such as the AI-Exposure Index and the Career Outlook supply/demand and recession-resilience bands). You acknowledge that this information derives independent economic value from not being generally known and is protected as a trade secret. You agree not to use or disclose it except as the Service expressly permits, and not to attempt to extract, derive, reverse engineer, or reconstruct it, whether directly or by analyzing the Service’s outputs.
10. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties, including AI providers (Anthropic and Google), a payment processor (Helcim), email delivery (Resend), and hosting (Supabase and Vercel). Your use may be subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE OR ANY AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, RELIABLE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR ERROR-FREE.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SWEET AN BUSINESS LLC AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, OPPORTUNITIES, OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sweet An Business LLC from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms or of applicable law.
14. Schools and districts
Where a school, district, or institution provides the Service to students, that institution’s relationship with us is governed by a separate agreement (which may include a data privacy agreement under FERPA and applicable state student-privacy laws). In that context the institution, not the student, is the owner and controller of student education records, and these consumer Terms apply only to the extent consistent with that agreement.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 8–13 and 16–17) will survive.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California for any dispute not otherwise subject to a binding alternative process, and we each consent to venue there.
18. Assignment and successor entity
You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms, and our rights and obligations under them, to an affiliate or successor entity, including in connection with reorganizing the business or moving the My School Advisor product into a separate company. In that case the successor entity will assume these Terms, and they will continue to apply to you without the need for any further action on your part.
19. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Questions? Contact us at support@myschooladvisor.app.
